Spool knitting

Hey all!! I know I've been gone for awhile, and I hope everyoen had a happy holiday. I've been very busy at work, and really have not been able to do very much. Relly don't have time right now to put in a decent entry. Just wanted to let you all know that I've been doing some spool knitting today, something I've never done, and I've been having a blast with it! I think this is going to be a small rug. Anyway, here it is so far,and I'll be back later!! Love you all!!

The tale of a sweater

For the past three days,I have been working on the 5 Hour Baby Sweater. It took 3 days as I kept putting down to do other stuff. Anyway,I finished it today during the weekly SnB,and was very proud as the ladies oohed and aahed. While leaving,I decided to show it off to all my workmates, since the Snb is held at my job. They also oohed and aahed, and one of them said that I needed to find someone that's having a girl to give it to. That's when Jessi spaeks up and announces that she's having a girl! I hand her the sweater cheerfully. It wasn't until I was halfway home that it dawned on me that now I have no picture to share!! Dumbass!!
But a thousand words are better than a picture (so says Alice Walker). I used Caron Simply Soft in Pale Lavender and followed the pattern to a tee. Now you know what it looks like!!

I apologize for nothing

Before you continue to read this post,be forwarned that it is a bit R- rated. Having said that, here we go.
I have had a pattern in my files for a very long time that I just never had the nerve to knit up. Finally, last Friday,I pulled out some nice wool blend yarn from my stash, unsheathed my size 7 dpn's,and cast on. Giggling the entire time,I knit for 3 days, having to stop during the festivities of the holiday, but finally got the piece completed. So,without further ado,I give the Willie Warmer!!

Now,do not ask me if it fits or not, because I am not trying it on!!!

My goodies

Well,Christmas is over and I hope everyone had a good one. Things went well here. We had a great time with the cousins that visited, and my bro and his 4 kids. We have enough food leftover to last the week,so I don't think we'll need to worry about going to the grocery for awhile, except maybe for dog food. When you have a German Shepard,Chow/Lab mix,Cocker Spaniel, and an Italian Greyhound, dog food goes pretty fast.
But back to the people food. We had turkey,BBQ,broccoli casserole, pineapple casserole, squash casserole, mac and cheese, hash brown casserole, dressing, rice and gravy, red velvet cake, and pecan pie. Yes,we live in the South,so everything is a casserole! LOL!
On the gift side,I did pretty well. I got a new pair of sleep pants, two sweat shirts,a pair of slippers,a casual dress shirt, two gift cards (Wal-Mart and AC Moore),a photo album, three skeins of Boa yarn, and the biggest gift was form Mom-a digital camera with a printer dock!!! Now I can take real pictures!! Yaya Mom!!
Well,I gotta run. I have a bit of knitting to do and then get ready for work.

Check out the size of my dickey!!

I had time to kill while waiting around in the hospital last night (my Pop had tests run),and I had all this gray yarn in my knitting stash,so out pops the size 7 needles along with my copy of EZ's "Knitting Around",and I start knitting up a dickey. I just finished and I had to try it on. My dickey is the perfect size for this gay boy!! Hehehe!

On that note,I wish everybody a happy holiday of your choice. I'm a Buddhist,so I don't really get into Christmas, but the rest of my family are Christian, except for my bro who's an atheist. I do the whole gift and big, gigantic meal for the rest the family. I enjoy the gathering part,ya know. Sangha and all that! Anyhoo, later taters!!

The insanity!!

I'm going crazy right now, dear readers! We are in the second week of inventory at work, and it is driving me batty!! Yesterday I spent 2 hours counting sponge brushes!! SPONGE BRUSHES!! God only knows what'll be today. And I just don't have energy left to knit or crochet. Well,I am working a hat on my looms,so I guess that counts. I also have a poncho in the back of my head to try.
Well,I gotta get ready for work. Gotta be there at 6 this morning for the truck. I truly love my job...but not right now. LOL!

My? poncho

Well, the poncho I started Friday night is done done done. I used the Coming Home Poncho as the base of it,but eliminated the cowl neck and the scalloped edging, made it a few rows longer, and placed a light gray stripe in the center of an otherwise dark gray/black piece. It was supposed to be my poncho, but it revealed itself to be a bit too feminine once I put it on,and I'm not that much of a queen quite yet. LOL! I still think it turened out nice, and will probably sell it. Or give it away. If any of my dear readers would like it,let me know through private email. You pay for the shipping, and you can have it. REally. I don't need it. Here it is...

I found the coolest link on Celtic Knitter's blog. You download a picture of yourself, and then you find out what celebrity you most resemble. The link is
